A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Angelica Alvarado, and I am currently a third-year Honors undergraduate student studying Biomedical Sciences with minors in Chemistry and Spanish. I began my journey of pursuing a career in STEM in Arvada, Colorado. As a child, I found interests in martial arts, fly fishing, climbing fourteeners, and many more outdoor hobbies. The most rewarding part of my childhood though, was being able to give back to the community through my volunteer work. I spent hundreds of hours with the Colorado Special Olympics, Denver Rescue Mission, Children's Hospital, and dozens of other organizations. My experiences, combined with my love for science and health, pushed me towards the medical field to become a physician, specifically a pediatrician.

As an undergrad, I have been fortunate enough to receive the RISE Fellowship to become a part of the research world and make a small impact outside of the typical classroom experience. I believe that this opportunity has given me a new passion in public health research. That being said, I will still be applying to MD programs, but I am now considering MD/PhD Degrees to continue doing research.
